Suicide prevention training will be offered for middle school and high school parents on Wednesday, November 29, from 6:30- 8 p.m. at the Mount Si High School main campus library. Parents may register for this free training HERE. Through this important discussion, parents will learn risk and protective factors, how to recognize warning signs, and how to respond to threats of suicide. This training is endorsed by the Mount Si High School PTSA, Associated Student Body and Natural Helpers, and the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network.

Mount Si High School is in its third year of working with Forefront: Innovations in Suicide Prevention, a comprehensive model for suicide prevention developed at the University of Washington. Mount Si is one of 13 King County high schools participating in Forefront for Schools suicide prevention education, based on L.E.A.R.N. intervention curriculum.

Last year, 900 SVSD parents, students, and staff received the L.E.A.R.N. training. This year, 9th grade students will receive this training on Tuesday, November 28th in their math class.
