Suicide prevention training will be offered for parents on Thursday, November 29, from 7- 8:30 p.m. at the Mount Si High School library (main campus).

Developed by Forefront Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington, you will learn the five simple and effective LEARN® steps that empower individuals to help others move in the direction of hope, recovery, and survival.  These steps play an important role in helping us recognize when peers, friends, and family might be having thoughts of suicide, and to know how and where to refer those individuals to keep them safe.

Over 1600 SVSD parents, students, and staff have received the L.E.A.R.N. training. This year, 9th grade students will receive their training in December.  This training is endorsed by the Mount Si High School PTSA, Associated Student Body and Natural Helpers, and the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network.
