Dear CKMS Families, CKMS is looking for a variety of careers to present to 7 th  grade students. We will be having a Career Day at CKMS on Friday May 31 st  from 8:25 – 10:00am and our 7 th  graders would enjoy hearing about community members’ or parents’ careers. This is a fantastic way for our 7 th  graders to get firsthand knowledge of the potential career paths. Youth Success Mentoring Opportunities
Youth Success Mentoring (YSM), an in-school volunteer mentoring program that pairs caring community members with students in the Riverview and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts. YSM volunteers work with the same student one-to-one, once a week.  Research shows the powerful positive effects on a young person’s personal, academic and community situation that result from a quality mentoring relationship.  Parents don’t volunteer in the school their children attend, but can mentor in a nearby school to help make our community stronger.  Imagine how we can improve our Snoqualmie Valley community if we all work together!  Anyone who has a desire to help ... read full article

Teacher Conference Dinner
It’s incredible that Teacher Conferences are almost here. On Tuesday November 20th , our teachers will work an extremely long day in order to accommodate an evening conference. As a show of our appreciation, we would like to provide an early dinner for them. They are so grateful for this as they don’t have the time to leave the premises for food between the two sessions. Hawk-A-Thon Friday, September 21st!
 This year’s Hawk-A-Thon will be held on Friday, September 21st . The event is one and a half hours per grade. The students will gather 15 minutes ahead of the time they are scheduled to go in the gym to get into their teams and receive instructions before heading to the track. All teams will run the relay for one hour, with an additional 15 minutes to cool down and get back to class. What is the Hawk-A-Thon?
